Hamilton County Yard trimmings drop-offs reopen March 31

 

Look around your backyard. Your leaves, old shrubs, branches and brush aren't landfill material. They can be used to create valuable compost and recycle nutrients back into Hamilton County yards.  To help you recycle your yard trimmings, the Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste District's Yard Trimmings Drop-Off Sites will reopen on March 31, 2012. As always, this service is free to Hamilton County residents. Approximately 7,000 tons of yard trimmings were collected and last year.

Dates and Hours:  

March 31 - November 25, 2012
Saturdays and Sundays
11:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.   

January 5 and January 12, 2013
Saturdays
Noon -  3 p.m. 

All sites will be closed on April 8.

Locations:

EAST:
        Bzak Landscaping, 3295 Turpin Ln. (off State Route 32), Anderson Township
(Open Mon. - Fri., 7:30 a.m. -  5 p.m. in addition to hours listed above) Closed May 28, July 4, Sept. 3 and Nov. 22

WEST:

        Kuliga Park, 6717 Bridgetown Rd., Green Township 

NORTH:

        Rumpke Sanitary Landfill, 3800 Struble Rd., Colerain Township 

Guidelines:

  • Landscapers and commercial establishments are NOT eligible to participate in this program!                              

  • No large trailers or trucks larger than pickups.

  • Cut brush and tree branches into lengths of 4 feet or less - branches must not exceed 1 foot in diameter.

  • Bundle brush and tree branches with a material such as twine - bundles must not be heavier than 50 pounds.

  • Bring yard trimmings to the locations in containers or bags - brown paper bags preferred.

  • Containers and plastic bags will be returned.

  • No pallets, boards, nails, fence or wire accepted.

  • Hamilton County residents only.

  • All children must stay inside vehicles.
