DEER PARK POLICE DEPARTMENT NOW
ON TWITTER

Deer Park Police is now posting to Twitter, the free, real-time, short messaging service that works over multiple networks and devices.

Twitter is a service that will allow citizens greater access to the Department’s activities. Officers and Dispatchers can post short messages and updates of 140 characters called “tweets”. The messages can be read by anyone “following” the Deer Park Twitter page.

Simply join Twitter and choose to follow the Deer Park page and you will receive crime alerts, updates, crime prevention tips, Amber Alerts, and notice of Department events. A citizen can also ask questions via Twitter although we ask that they be general topic law enforcement questions and not specific to a particular case or Officer. The page can also serve as a virtual suggestion box.

The Department used to a have a community E-mail list and messages could be sent to that list but it became cumbersome. Twitter allows a person to choose whether or not to receive information, and it avoids filling up e-mail in-boxes. All you need to use Twitter is an internet connection or a mobile phone.  The Deer Park page is at the below link;
