2010 Citizens Police Academy

The Deer Park Police Citizen Police Academy offers residents an inside look at law enforcement and exposes participants to the daily operational duties of police officers. Our interactive program is designed to increase understanding of the various duties performed by members of the Deer Park Police Department and, through education, building a bridge to better communication between citizens and law enforcement.

Classes meet once a week for eleven weeks and concludes with a graduation ceremony where each participant is presented with a certificate recognizing his/her completion of the program.

Programs are instructed by members of the Deer Park Police Department, each highlighting their individual area of expertise, as well as guest speakers from other law enforcement and professional agencies.

Classes are a combination of lectures and demonstrations and cover such topics as police training, crime prevention, firearms, crime scene processing, and traffic stops. The instruction is comprehensive, covering different areas of law enforcement each week. Citizens will also have the opportunity to take a tour of the city building and do civilian ride-a-longs with our police officers.

We invite the citizens of Deer Park to come learn more about what services their police department offers.

For more information, contact Officer Jennifer Campbell or Lt. Milton Proctor at (513) 791-8056.
